Sugar-free Lemonade

I make this in the summer and it is perfect - sweet from the xylitol, refreshing and full of vitamin C

Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tsp xylitol
200ml sparkling mineral water

Turmeric, Ginger and Lemon Tonic Tea

Turmeric is extremely beneficial for the liver and is highly anti-inflammatory. I came upon this recipe when looking for suggestions for drinks containing turmeric and ginger which is also highly anti-inflammatory.

¼ cup grated fresh turmeric root (or 1 tbsp ground turmeric)
2 tbsp grated fresh ginger root
4 cups water
1 lemon
¼ cup agave nectar or honey (I use manuka honey when I can for it's extra immune boosting properties)

To prepare the tea, peel and grate the turmeric and the ginger root. Place in a soup pot and add water. Bring to mixture to a boil and simmer for about 15-20 minutes.

Strain and allow the mixture to cool for about 5 minutes.

Then, juice the lemon and pour into the turmeric tea along with the agave nectar or honey.

This infusion can also be drunk at room temperature.

This makes about 4 cupfuls.

It is absolutely delicious and makes a great pick-me up in the afternoon or wake up boost first thing in the morning. Drink and enjoy!
